Olive attended Washington Grade School through the sixth grade, and graduated from Junior High in 1930. She attended Southwest College in Kansas for one year before beginning work at Mogel's, the family grocery store, in Bartlesville. She married T.E. Weldon, living on Kaw Street. Olive was a successful Avon representative for many years. Later in life, she married Cletus Haywood, a retired carpenter, and they lived on Lupa. They enjoyed spending their time fishing for crappie.
She has been a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. She taught women's' classes for several years and played the organ for church services. She enjoyed sending church bulletins, with her handwritten notes of encouragement to those unable to attend services at Grace Epworth United Methodist Church. Olive's favorite hobbies were crocheting and writing poetry.
She is survived by a great-nephew, Curtis Sauer of Norman, Ok, three step-children, Sandy Shannon of Big Cabin, Carolyn Sue Littlefield of Rose, and Glen Haywood of Oglesby. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Haywood, her sisters Beatrice Foyil and Audrey Phillips.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Diana Trammel and Gary Howard for all of the love and support they gave Olive throughout the years. Friends who wish may sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org.
