Paul Sylvester Hains(1915-2014)

Paul Hains, longtime owner of Hains Greenhouse, Inc. passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014 in the Walker-Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rob Scofield officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Paul Sylvester Hains was born July 12, 1915 in Nevada, MO to Noah E. and Minnie Belle (Woods) Hains. Paul married Lela Russell on September 16, 1934 in Bartlesville. Paul was an employee of Phillips Petroleum Co. for 13 years. In 1946 he started Hains & Son Greenhouse with his father and continued operation for 48 years. Paul's life was centered around his family. His hobbies included fishing and gardening. He was a longtime member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.
Paul is survived by two sons; Robert Hains and wife Beth of Coffeyville, KS and Jerry Hains and wife Saralee of Tulsa. Three daughters; Sue Hains Rice of Bartlesville, Judy and husband Forrest Yearout of Copan, Sara and husband Marty Hess of Bartlesville. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, niece, JoAnn Hansen and nephew, Dick McDonald and several great nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife Lela Hains, parents, Noah and Minnie Hains, son, Billy Joe Hains, brother, Lonnie Hains and grandmother, Mary Woods.
