Reed Wahnee Obituary

Reed Martin Wahnee, age 72, passed from this life on November 14, 2012 at his home in Miami with his family by his side.
Reed was born on October 16, 1940 to James Wahnee and Ann Laura Wilson in Claremore, Oklahoma.
Mr. Wahnee was a member of the Comanche and Delaware Nations. Reed married Debbie Dianne Wallace on September 17, 1987 in Oklahoma City. Reed was a Geologist, traveling extensively in the Oil Industry working for Exploration Logging and Luttrell Oil and Gas for over 50 years, and then served as a Geodynamic consultant. Mr. Wahnee was a horseman, this was his passion. He was a horse trainer and loved to watch the horse races. Reed liked to fish, camp and loved all of his grandchildren.
Mr. Wahnee is survived by his wife Debbie of the home in Miami. Two sons: James Reed Wahnee of Oglesby, Oklahoma and Robert Wayne Wahnee of Bartlesville, OK. Daughter: Paula Ann Gibson and spouse Morgan Keene of Grove, OK and Step Daughter Ginger Anne Nimmo and husband Richard of Bethany, OK. One Brother: Jim (Moke) Wahnee and wife Carol of Weatherford, OK. Also surviving Reed are twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Sonny Wahnee, one stepson Larry Bradley Wallace and one step grandson Benjamin Nimmo.
Visitation was held Friday, November 16, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm, at the Grand Lake Funeral Home in Grove, OK. Services were scheduled for Saturday, 11:00a.m., November 17, 2012, at the First Christian Church in Miami, OK. Interment was Saturday 2:30 p.m. in the Delaware Cemetery in Dewey, Oklahoma. Arrangements entrusted to Grand Lake Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Grove, OK. Online condolences can be made at www.grandlakefuneralhomes.com

I knew Reed from early high school days. I was from bartlesville and Reed, Jimmy Shull, Dan Gilliland all from Dewey. We used to get into a lot of mischief.
