David Flanagan passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the Walker-Brown Chapel in Bartlesville with Reverend Kevin Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Ramona Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #105 Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Thomas David Flanagan was born November 14, 1952 in Ft. Worth, TX to Del and Peggy (Morgan) Flanagan. He lived in East Tulsa, surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many dear friends from childhood until graduating from East Central High School in 1971. His childhood friends have remained special to him his whole life and have been joined in his big heart by new dearly held friends. David proudly served in the U.S. Navy
. He married Cynthia Meeks Brown in 1980.
In 2012 he retired after 33 years of service from the U.S. Postal Service as Postmaster of Ramona, OK. David's main love was his granddaughter, Sunshine, followed closely by golf and his many friends. David was known for his bright and easy smile and endless good humor.
David is survived by his wife, Cynthia, of the home. Two sons; David Brown of Houston, TX and Sean Flanagan of Ramona. He was blessed with one granddaughter, Sunshine Rose Wagoner of Nowata, OK. Two brothers; Phil Flanagan of San Antonio, TX, Steve Flanagan of Springfield, MO and sister, Donna Strickland of Crosby, TX. His two dear aunts; Elaine Flanagan of Tulsa, Nancy Benight of Charlotte, NC, as well as dear cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
