Tommy Ottinger(1933-2013)

Mr. Tommy Ottinger 79, resident of Copan, died at 2:00 AM on Friday May 31, 2013, in Owasso.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday in the Copan United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Copan United Methodist Church PO Box 70 Copan, Oklahoma 74022 in memory of Tommy.
Tommy Ottinger-Born August 21st 1933, N.E. of Wann, Okla.; Mother-Betty (Smith) Ottinger-Deceased 11-19-1984; Father-Scott Walter Ottinger-Deceased 03-01-1977; Brother Richard (Doc) Stout-Deceased 05-21-2008 and his wife, Virginia Stout in Independence, Kansas.
All of Tommy's education was at Wann School in Wann, Okla. He married Barbara Jean Winkler on June 1st, 1954 in Copan, Okla. They lived in Coffeyville, Kansas from 1954 until 1963. He worked at Exner-Dodge Company in Coffeyville, Kansas. They moved to Dewey, Okla., in 1963 and He went to work at the Gas Service Company in Bartlesville, Okla. He worked there for twenty-nine (29) years and got an early retirement on May 1st, 1992. They bought some lots in Copan and had a home built there.
Tommy and Barbara had one daughter, Gayla Kay Ottinger, born on June 18th, 1962. She got married to Greg Long on April 17th, 2010. They live in Owasso, Oklahoma.
Tommy has been an active member of the United Methodist Church in Copan, Okla. Since December 21st, 1986. As of February 2004 he became a member of the New Hope Assembly Church in Dewey, Okla. Until the last of April 0f 2011. Since May 2011 He has been attended the United Methodist Church in Copan again.
He was diagnosed on April 27th, 2000 with Lung Cancer and it had spread to the bone. He took radiation treatments and chemo therapy both at the Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa, Okla. With their treatments and the prayers to the Lord Jesus Christ Tommy has been in remission since October 2006.
