Velma Francine London passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 in the Rosewood Nursing Home, Vinita, Okla.
She was 83 years old.
Mrs. London was born Feb. 17, 1929 in Ralston, Okla., the daughter of William Elmer and Dora Lavern (Brook) Wood. She attended Indian Camp School in Pawhuska and Ralston Public Schools. On July 23, 1947, Velma married Barnum Rupert London, Jr., in Ralston. A retired licensed practical nurse, she had worked for Home of Hope in Vinita. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading. Velma was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband Barnum R. London, Jr.,; her children, Judith K. Bush, Sherry Lean Kutnak, Jackie Elaine London and Desiree Denise Kuhn; one brother,Donald Lee Wood; her grandchildren, Dixie Macias, Todd Kutnak, Danielle Allum, Natasha Lea Stiles, Mark Stiles, Joshua Kuhn and Alexis Kuhn; and her great grandchildren, Zakery Stiles, Seth David Kuhn, Wyatt Kuhn, Natalya Macias, Antonia Macias, Kyliegh Bush and Andrew Bush.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Doris Lavern Wood and Florence Loraine Jones; two brothers, Roland Lamar Wood and William Casey Wood; and grand-daughter Debra Cortez.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Fairfax City Cemetery, Fairfax, Okla. Interment will follow.
