C. Reynolds Obituary
C. Levina Reynolds joined her Heavenly Father on March 25, 2012, at the age of 70.
She was born June 23, 1941, in Shidler, Okla., and later moved to nearby Pawhuska. In 1955, as a seventh grader, Levina spotted a boy she wanted to meet. Finding out he would be at the local skating rink later, she and her friends decided to go as well. That boy noticed her immediately. John T. Reynolds invited her to join him in a couple's skate, and they spent the rest of their lives together. After graduating from Pawhuska High School, she married the love of her life on December 2, 1961.
Levina was a loving mother and raised two daughters, Julie and Tara, sharing the values of love, honesty, faith, family and friends. She was a lifetime member of the First Assembly of God Church. Through the years, she volunteered with the church's youth group and women's ministry, supported St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and served as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Levina was recently fundraising for the Mary and Martha Outreach Center in Bartlesville and Susan G. Komen for the Cure for breast cancer research and awareness. Levina loved spending time with her family and devoted many hours to watching her granddaughters at their ballet recitals, livestock shows and sporting events. She also enjoyed antiquing with her daughters and curling up to watch a good movie or sit and read with them.
Levina is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Mitchell; father, Harold Dean Peugh; and brother, Harold Dean Peugh, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, John T. Reynolds; daughter Julie Childers and husband Brian; daughter Tara Sutherland and husband Chris; six granddaughters, Savana and Sayre Childers; and Hailey, Lauren, Katelyn Ann and Cosette Sutherland. She also is survived by her sister, Vera Whitehill; brother, Charles Peugh and wife Mary; sister-in-law, Carol Hayes; brother-in-law, C.L. "Butch" Reynolds and wife Judy; and eight nieces and five nephews.
Known to her family as "Nina" - Levina was a wife, mother, best friend and grandmother who had a heart of gold. She always had a smile or kind word for all, and according to her granddaughters, had the most beautiful eyes and the best laugh and hugs. "Nina" will be greatly missed and will live on forever in our hearts.
Services were held Friday, March 30, at 11 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Pawhuska, Okla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the First Assembly of God Church in Pawhuska, Okla.
McCartney's Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
