Mr. Bruce Edward Williams, 81, formerly of Bartlesville, died at 6:45 A.M. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry, Oklahoma.

Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, May 17, 2013 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Kristy Rodgers of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
The Williams family will receive guests for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 PM.

Mr. Williams was born in Bartlesville on May 10, 1931 the son of Dorothy Helen (Shiers) and Oral Guy Williams. He grew up and received his education in Bartlesville and served as Drum Major for the high school band prior to his graduation from College High School in 1950. He also played saxophone in a local dance band known as the "Downbeats". He attended Oklahoma A & M (now Oklahoma State University) at Stillwater where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business in 1954. He was a proud alumnus and Cowboy fan and a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Mr. Williams worked for over 30 years as a Farmers insurance agent in Bartlesville where he owned his own agency. He finished his career at the Brian Kennedy Agency. Mr. Williams was married to Blodwen Ann Sturek on February 9, 1963 in Bartlesville. They made their home in Bartlesville and Mrs. Williams preceded him in death on April 25, 2009. Mr. Williams continued his home in Bartlesville until moving to Stillwater to make his home. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville where he served as an Elder and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He was also a member of the Bartlesville Noon Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris Fellow.
Mr. Williams is survived by two daughters, Allyson Wenn Walters and her husband Marvin of Fort Worth, Texas and Kimberly Ann Williams of Stillwater, one granddaughter, Hayley Walters of Fort Worth, Texas, cousins, Helen Schroeder of Cartersville, Georgia, Barbara Noel of Azle, Texas, Della Pickens of Ponte Verde Beach, Florida, Carolyn Van Zant of Covington, Louisiana, Betty Wenzel of Chickasha, Okla., and Bill Van Zant of Mission, Texas as well as a number of other cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ronald Earl Williams and a sister, Betty Grace Williams.
