James K. Reeve, 86, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

Mr. Reeve was born on September 24, 1925 in Livingston, Montana to Isabelle and John Reeve. He served in the Pacific during WW2 in the U.S. Coast Guard. He had been an art consultant and former curator and museum director. He directed the installation of major exhibitions in numerous museums, galleries, and private collections, including the Toledo (Ohio) Museum of Art; the University Art Gallery, University of Notre Dame; and the Anglo-American Art Museum at Louisiana State University.
He held a graduate degree from New York University's Institute of Fine Arts and did post-graduate study at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London, England. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tulsa.
In his home state of Oklahoma, he served as General Curator of Philbrook Art Center, Tulsa, and as Director of the Oklahoma Museum of Art, Oklahoma City. He had been an art consultant to museums, private collectors, and art dealers throughout the country.

He is survived by his brother, John R. Reeve of Pampa, Texas; two nephews, Russell C. Reeve of Lucas, Texas and Randall C. Reeve of Gallup, New Mexico.
