Lance D. Cottom, age 44 and resident of Avant, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013 at his residence.

Lance David Cottom was born April 12, 1969 in Bartlesville. He was the son of James David Cottom and Linda (Reilly) Cottom. He graduated from Bartlesville High School and Tulsa Welding School.
Lance and Tammy Pryor were united in marriage on May 24, 2003 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and they made their first home in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was a Welder and Pipeline Inspector for various companies in the oil industry. Lance was also a Veteran, having served his Country in the U.S. Navy.
Lance was an avid OU football fan and loved music, reading and cooking. He was a devoted family man and also enjoyed spending time with friends and his beloved dogs.
He was preceded in death by both his grandfathers, Charles Cottom and R. C. Reilly.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy of the home; a daughter, Courtney Cottom of Miami, Oklahoma; his parents, James D. and Linda Cottom; his grandmothers, Cora Reilly and Alberta Cottom; brothers, Darren Cottom and Kevin Cottom; a sister, Stacy Caviness; uncles Pat, Joe, Bob, Richard and Edward Reilly and Keith Cottom; an aunt, Joyce McCaskill and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a Rosary for Lance at 7:00 PM on Monday, August 5, 2013 at St. John Catholic Church, 701 S. Johnstone in Bartlesville and a Mass of The Resurrection will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 6 at St. John Catholic Church. Father Festus Maliwa will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville where full Military Rites will be accorded Mr. Cottom.
