Alma Kendall was born July 9, 1921 in Dewey, Oklahoma, to Ruby and Floyd Cox.

She had an identical twin, Alyce, and most people could not tell them apart. She grew up in Dewey and graduated from High School. Her parents operated a country grocery store in Tuxedo. Alma had polio as a teenager, but through her mother's help learned to walk and have a normal life again. She exhibited a courageous spirit and never accepted failure as an outcome.
In 1942 Alma married Richard W. Kendall prior to his serving in World War II as a pilot. When he returned from the war, they began their family. Alma was a wonderful mother, an accomplished artist and art teacher. She was a homemaker, optimistic about life and always looked on the bright side of situations.
Alma is survived by her husband of 75 years, Richard W. Kendall living in Conroe, Texas, a daughter, Richela Chapman of Amarillo, Texas, and son, Richard Alan Kendall of Montgomery, Texas. Her youngest son, Mark Kendall is deceased. Alma and Richard have two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation is being held in Conroe, Texas on Saturday June 15 2013 from 2 to 4 pm at the Metcalf Funeral Home in Conroe. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
