Barbara Killough of Grove, OK passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at the age of 82.
Barbara was born March 20, 1931 in Claremore, OK to Harold and Lyda (Curnutt) Burrows, where she grew up and graduated as High School Salutatorian, class of 1948. After graduation, she married John Killough and they attended Oklahoma State University, and for several years were employed in advertising at the Peoria Journal-Star. Following this, Barbara became the advertising director and production editor for "The Handloader" and "The Rifle" magazines. She was associate editor of the "Fertilizer Solutions" magazine and later became the assistant manager for Marketing Communications for Dynamic Graphics, Inc.
She and her husband settled in Grove 1985 and Barbara began her own company, Southwind Graphics, which she operated until retiring in 1988. They enjoyed RV travel, genealogy, and family domino games. Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grove.
Her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Jim, and his wife Brenda of Bartlesville, OK and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday December 14, 2013 at the Nichols Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, OK. Donations may be made to Grove Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
