Betty Fisher Cox Obituary
Betty Ann (Owen) Fisher Cox was born in Collinsville, Texas, on October 2, 1935, to Leonard Lester and Addie Clara India (Stephens) Owen. She married Ronald Leveral Fisher on December 4, 1950 in Stratford, California. Together they had five children: Ronald Thomas, Wesley Earl, Barbara Denise, and Clarissa Marlene; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
After Ronald's death, she met and married Andrew Jackson Cox on June 12, 2002, in Bartlesville.
Betty's life was characterized by her strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith sustained her and it encouraged and inspired her family members. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed reading and embroidery and she loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Virgil, Amos, Alfred, Tommy, Herbert and Billy; one sister Eva Lorraine Owen; her husband of 44 years, Ronald; her son Ronald Thomas Fisher and her daughter Robyn Elaine FIsher. Betty is survived by her husband Jack Cox of Bartlesville; daughter-in-law Jaletta Fisher; son Wesley Fisher and wife Sandra, daughter Barbara Kilgore and husband Lynn, and daughter Clarissa Wilson and husband Gary, all of Coweta; sister Norma Jean of Catoosa; stepdaughter Anita Cox and husband Robert Bates; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday 12-5 and Sunday 12-6. Betty's family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Sunday, 4-6 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, at West Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Peace officiating. Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. with interment at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.
