Charles Wesley McElroy II, 84, resident of Bartlesville, died at 10:12 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 14, 2013 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark DeMoss and Pastor Michael Vallandingham officiating. Interment will be the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Military rites will be conducted by the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105 of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Charles Wesley McElroy II was born October 21, 1928, at Amber, Oklahoma to Charles Wesley and Susan Katherine (Aduddell) McElroy. He was raised and received his education in south east Kansas, graduating high school in Chautauqua, Kansas. Mr. McElroy worked on the pipeline, grocery store, Reda Pump Company and Page Milk Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mr. McElroy entered the U.S. Army and served two years before returning to the Page Milk Company where he developed nine new routes and was supervisor. He owned a distributorship, in 1975 to 1984, and sold the business. He was married to Christine Elizabeth Wood on November 22, 1957 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where they made their home. Mr. and Mrs. McElroy and Jack Dougherty built the Western Sizzlin Steak House in Emporia, Kansas in 1984 and Mr. and Mrs. McElroy became sole owners in 1987. They operated the restaurant until 1997 at which time they sold the business. In 2001 they returned to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. McElroy assisted in pioneering Eastern Heights Baptist Church where he served as deacon, director of church training, severed on numerous church support committies, and taught a senior co-ed Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Lions Club for several years.
Survivors include; his wife Christine Elizabeth McElroy of the family home in Bartlesville; one son Charles W. McElroy III of Corsicana, Texas; one daughter Deborah Lynn Peterson of Bartlesville; one sister Gladys Brown of Bartlesville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. McElroy was preceded in death by his parents; one son Gregory Scott McElroy in 1997; one brother Lafe McElroy and one sister Margie Stark.
