Cleva May (Barger) Knode, 86, resident of Gering Nebraska, and former Bartlesville resident, died on Saturday January 18, 2014 at Gering Nebraska.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Knode will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 23, 2014 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Linda Lusnia of the Oak Park United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
There will be a Visitation for Mrs. Knode on Wednesday evening January 22, 2014 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. at the Stumpff Funeral Home.

Cleva May (Barger) Knode was born on October 10th, 1927 in Caney, KS. Her parents were LeRoy Barger and Pauline (Payne) Barger. She has 2 brothers and 4 sisters. John Barger, Walter Barger, Bonita Walker, Norma Cox, Paula Hudson and Janet Everly.
Cleva attended the Labadie Heights Grade School in Osage County for 8 years and Bartlesville Central High School for 2 years. After graduating from Bartlesville College High School in 1945, she continued her education with one year of college credits at the local Junior College before moving to Berkeley, California. While living in California she worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in San Francisco and for the State of California in Berkeley.
Cleva married Frank Knode January 15, 1949. They had 3 children: Steven Allan Knode, Kathleen Elise Cerrigone, and Scott Anthony Knode. Steve is married to Jennie. They have 2 daughters, Melissa and Becky and 5 grandchildren and one more on the way. Kathy is married to Steve Cerrigone. They live in Jackson, Georgia. She has 2 sons, Ben and Bryan Kelly. Scott is married to Janet. They live in Dallas, Texas and have a son, Christopher, and a daughter, Amanda.
Cleva worked as an Executive Secretary at Phillips Petroleum Company. Frank, her husband of 53 years was the Fire Chief in Bartlesville. Except for the nine months when they lived at Vance Air Force Base, they lived their entire married lives together in Bartlesville.
She began her employment at Phillips Petroleum Company in the LP-Gas Division and worked from June 1948 until November 1951 when she joined her husband at Vance Air Force Base. After going back to Phillips in 1957, she worked until her early retirement from the Marketing Department in August of 1985.
She was a member of the Bartlesville First Baptist Church, a life-time member of the Jane Phillips Sorority, served with the Jane Phillips Hospital Auxiliary and the Salvation Army.
