Donald A. (Don) Jewett, 82, died August 16, 2013 At Sterling House South, Bartlesville.
He was born July 20, 1931 in Bartlesville, the son of Fred A. Jewett and Eva Perry Jewett.
He served in the US Army as a missile radar guidance specialist, and later graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree from Oklahoma A&M College. He was employed as an electrical engineer, radar systems engineer, and control systems engineer for several different employers in numerous countries around the world. He retired from Phillips Petroleum Company. He was an avid ham radio operator, and belonged to the Ham radio Club of Bartlesville.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Bartlesville.
He married Golda Carruth in July of 1976 and they were later divorced.
Survivors include: Brother: Dale Jewett and wife Avril of Hutchinson, Kansas; Nephews: Randall Jewett of Bedford, Texas; Kirk Jewett and wife Carlene of Longview, Texas; Nieces: Barbara Hansen and husband Todd of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Brenda West and husband Mike of Harlingen, Texas; Patty Mellinger and husband John of Newton, Kansas; Ten great nephews and nieces; Stepdaughter: Regina Diller and Husband Steve of Bartlesville one stepson, James Page of Bartlesville, Step granddaughter: Shannon Eckert and husband Donnie of Dewey; Step great grandchildren: Michael James Eckert, A.J. Eckert and Kaiden Joshua Eckert all of Dewey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Stumpff Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Cremation has taken place. No funeral service is planned. A private memorial service is planned for a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville.
