Bartlesville – Duain W. Hogue (79) went to join his Lord on June 16, 2013 surrounded by his family in his home.
Duain was born May 20, 1934 in Petersburg, OK, son of the late Pony and Ruby Hogue. He was the second to the youngest and the only son in a family with seven sisters. He graduated high school in Courtney, OK, served in the Army in the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Detachment at Ft. Sill, OK. On June 8, 1956, he married his sweetheart, Sue Homesley in Borger, TX. They made their home in Bartlesville where they raised three children, Jeff, Laurie and Susan. He received his BS in Geology from OSU leading to his work, and subsequent move to Bartlesville, at Phillips Petroleum from 1959 to 1970. He then changed careers to join State Farm Insurance as an agent until his retirement in 1998.
Duain was an active member of the Church of Christ, loved playing golf and loved all sports especially any OSU team. He enjoyed a good joke and his hearty laugh will be long remembered.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sue (Homesley) Hogue, his son, Jeff Hogue, daughters Laurie Garrison and Susan Brchan, six beautiful grandchildren, Erin Hogue, Reid Garrison, Cole Garrison, Doss Garrison, Grant Brchan, Sarah Brchan, and Emily Brchan and one great granddaughter, Arley Garrison. He is also survived by four sisters, Ramona Blankenship, CaraSue Davis, Rebecca Atkins, and Roxanna Davis, as well as many more relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pony and Ruby Hogue, an infant son, and sisters, Leoda Davis, Virginia May and Roberta Atkins.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to The World Bible School, Adams Blvd Church of Christ, 3700 SE Adams Blvd, Bartlesville, OK 74006.
Funeral services for Mr. Hogue will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Adams Boulevard Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
