Evelyn Ruth Halluma, R.N. (Ret), 78, of Bartlesville left this life to begin her new journey with the Lord, at 6:21 P.M. on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at her home.
Evelyn Ruth Halluma was born in Porum, Oklahoma on October 22, 1935 the daughter of Lillie Clare (Wood) Lewis and Thomas Monroe Lewis II and was the eldest of three girls. Evelyn adored and loved her parents very much. She cherished her family. Evelyn was an animal lover and considered her pets, "Fluffy" and "Pepy" as her children.
She graduated from Oklahoma A & M at Stillwater and then worked in the banking industry in Tulsa. She moved to California where she was an actress in movies and sang with Lawrence Welk. She then attended nursing school and became a Registered Nurse and later continued her education and became a nursing instructor. "Eve" as she was affectionately known, was a registered nurse by trade, and an eternal caregiver by heart. Her passion for nursing was evident by the many kind words spoken about Eve by her patients, co-workers, friends and the countless h ours she spent taking care of others.
In her spare time, Eve adored the arts and was a regular volunteer at OK Mozart for many years. She enjoyed acting, playing golf and spending time with her friends. She also loved to travel. Eve could often be found reading, studying and sharing scripture with everyone and anyone who would listen. She could also be found regularly listening to Elvis songs.
Eve lived her life to the fullest. Her beautiful hair and sparking eyes, along with her big smile, reflected her loving and infectious spirit. Her laughter, sense of humor, and kind heart will be greatly missed on earth but will certainly light up heaven.
Survivors include a sister, Joan Virden and her husband Roger B. Virden of Bartlesville, two nephews, Chad Virden of Bartlesville and Matthew Mack of California, and a great nephew, Eric Virden of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommie and Lillie Lewis, a sister, Shirley Mack, a nephew, Lance Virden, three aunts, Bertha Wood Reese, Violet Wood Coughran and Bess Coughran, and five uncles, Oren Wood, Roy Wood, Ona Wood, Jess wood and Columbus Wood.
