Mrs. Fonda Sue Purdum, 81, of Copan, died at 7:30 P.M. on Friday, March 21, 2013 at the Barnsdall Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Purdum will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mrs. Purdum was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on December 7, 1932 to Hal and Alice (Kyle) Showalter. She moved with her family to Elkins, Arkansas where she grew up, received her education and graduated from high school. She was married to Marion Joseph Purdum on September 22, 1950 in Sulpher City, Arkansas. They moved to Dewey to make their home in 1952 and later moved to the Copan area in 1963. Mrs. Purdum attended LPN training and later received her Registered Nurse training in Parsons, Kansas. She was employed with the Caney Hospital and later at Jane Phillips Medical Center where she worked in various departments until her retirement. Following her retirements she went on several mission trips to Nicaragua. She was an active member of the Copan Baptist Church and was also involved in her children's school activities.
Mrs. Purdum is survived by two sons, Marion "Dwayne" Purdum of Tulsa and Frank Allen Purdum and his wife, Dee Ann of Hominy, two daughters, Carlotta Gail Evans of Copan and Clarissa Lu Purdum, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Joseph Purdum on February 11, 2010, her parents, three brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter, Lisa Nicole.
