Glennester Palmer Obituary

Glennester Arthur Palmer, from Dewey , OK, went to be home with the Lord on Friday, September 23, 2016.
Glenn was born in Stillwater, OK to Benn and Sarrah Palmer on August 6, 1932. They moved to Bartlesville where he grew up and graduated from College High School in 1951. While in school he participated in Boy Scouts (one merit badge away from achieving Eagle) and was First Chair Drummer in the band. After high school attended Oklahoma A & M for two years. He then served in the military where he was stationed in Korea from 1955-1957. On his return he worked as a milkman with Meadowgold where he met his first wife, Ellen Luadah Bonham Richardson and made their home in Dewey, OK. Over the years Glenn worked with Orkin, Bartlesville Credit Bureau, Collection Agencies, Sales, and retired from Applied Automation in 1998. He was Scout Master and member of the Exchange Club for several years. He also loved archery and went to Colorado to bow and arrow hunt for many years. He won several archery competitions. He also enjoyed piddling around in his workshop and working with wood. He was also a member of Word of Truth Fellowship where he found a home among many wonderful people. He LOVED his church family! He also loved kids and telling them stories. The longer the story, the bigger the "tale".
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bennretta Miller, sister Betty Hinshaw, wives Luadah Wilson, Maria Palmer, and the love of his life, Linda Sue Palmer. He is survived by his sister Loretta Applegate of Broken Arrow and brother Gene Palmer of Tulsa, daughter Glenda deVillasante, son-in-law, Jose Ramon (Choby) deVillasante of Cypress, TX, He is also survived by his step-children Gary Richardson of Dewey, OK, Steve Smith of Caney, KS, Scott Smith of Mountain View, OK, Denise Cagle of Eureka, CA, and Sherrill Cooper of Bartlesville, OK, three grandchildren Lander, Emily, and Laura (Elly) deVillasante and step-grandkids Michelle and Kristopher Richardson, Travis and Raven Smith, Megan Gaston, Kyle, Katie and Kaleb Smith, Alex Madden, Danielle, Lindsey, Tyrell, and Shelby Cooper, Jennifer, Michelle and Christopher Cagle and many special nieces and nephews. He also had many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his "adopted" family Paul, Angie, Jake, Jackie, Caleb Cade, neighbors Jamie Smith, Dan and Teresa Cunningham, Hannah, Jake, Caleb, Rachel, Zach, Isaac McCormick.
His family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the MANY times he was hospitalized over the years that he had visitors, cards, and prayers. It meant a great deal to him that so many people, be it family or friends, took time to visit him or send a card.
Services will be held at Word of Truth Fellowship located at the corner of Durham and Bison Road in Bartlesville at 2 P.M. on Monday, September 26, 2016. Following cremation, interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
