Harold Adams Obituary

Harold Louis Adams, 97 resident of Bartlesville, passed away March 2, 2016.
Harold was born September 4, 1918 in Weiser, Idaho to parents Leonard Leroy and Margaret Francis (Crawford) Adams. He moved to Bartlesville as a boy and attended schools here. On July 3, 1936 he married Thelma Irene Burchett. They were married almost 50 years before she preceded him in death. When Pearl Harbor was bombed, Harold enlisted in the US Navy to serve his country during WW ll. After the war, he returned to Bartlesville and took a job at Phillips Petroleum in the Oil Test lab. He later transferred to the research lab, where he worked until his retirement in the early 1980's. Harold had a tremendous work ethic, and he was always busy. When he got home from work at Phillips in the evening, he would change clothes and go to his shop and work until 10:00pm. He was truly a "Jack of all trades'. Harold was a handyman that could fix anything. He did woodwork, making furniture with his lathe. He was a skilled mechanic that could fix lawn mowers, motorcycles, or anything that had a motor. There just really wasn't anything that Harold couldn't fix.
After the passing of his first wife, Harold married Ruth Jeanice Turner on June 14, 1986.
Harold is survived by his wife Ruth of Bartlesville, His children, Charles Leroy Adams and wife Nita of Stillwater, OK, Donna Kelly and husband Bill of Bartlesville, OK and Joyce Ann Ralph and husband Charles David of Owasso, OK; step children Nancy Durall and husband Steven of Guthrie, OK, Stephen Wells and wife Evelyn of Boston, MA, and Larry Wells and wife Wilma of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 9 great - great grandchildren. Harold also leaves behind his sisters, Laura, Francis, Dot and Ruth as well as a step son in law Henry Rahm.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Thelma, a grandson James Scott Kelly, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, and a step daughter Claudette Rahm.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Wells officiating. Interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
