Harvey G. Heiken, 80, resident of Bartlesville, died at 7:06 PM on Thursday April 18, 2013 following a brief illness.

Funeral Services for Mr. Heiken will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Joe Dan Fowler officiating. Cremation arrangements and funeral services were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. Heiken was born November 25, 1932 at Bushton, Kansas to George Robert and Hannah Marie (Schlessiger) Heiken. He grew up and received his education at Holyrood Kansas graduating High school there in 1951. Soon after that he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Benning Georgia, where he met the love of his life Mary Ann Jordan. They were married at the First Baptist Church of Buena Vista Georgia on Oct. 3rd, 1954. Following his honorable discharge in 1955, Mr. Heiken worked in the Oil fields for a few years, until 1959 when he began Barber College in Oklahoma City, where he graduated from in 1960. He began his barbering career in Bartlesville, starting in Ashley's Barber Shops in Bartlesville, until he later purchased the Oak Park Barber & Beauty Shop in Oak Park in 1963, and was still active in the Barber shop business until his recent illness. Mr. Heikens hobbies were gardening, growing tomatoes, and making peanut brittle, and he loved sports KU Basketball, and OU football were his favorites, and loved being outdoors in the country. He was devoted to his family and to his Barber Shop and his clients. He was also an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville.
Mr. Heiken is survived by his wife Mary J. Heiken of the home, by one son, Don H. Heiken of Tulsa, by a sister Mrs. Allene Hogan and her husband LeRoy of Holyrood, Kansas, and by one brother Edward Heiken and his wife Margie of Blaine Washington, and by several sister-in-laws, and brother in laws; Helen Downer , Rosa Cook, Walter Jordan and wife Sue and Donald Jordan, all of Columbus Georgia, and Brenda McDonald and husband Dick of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents George & Hannah Heiken, and by a sister Betty Rose Shuler and her husband Gilbert Shuler, and by brother in law Lewis Downer, and Dewitt Cook, and sister-in-laws Sara Jordan and Lisa Jordan.
