Mrs. Helen Toon, 90, of Bartlesville, died at 11:15 P.M. Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Bartlesville Health & Rehab Facility.

Funeral services for Mrs. Toon will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. David Hammonds of the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Checotah directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mrs. Toon was born at Hitchita, Oklahoma on September 5, 1922 the daughter of Jess J. and Onie M. (Thompson) Curnutt. She grew up and received her education in McIntosh County in the Hitchita area where she graduated from high school. She also had received further education as a Licensed Practical Nurse and had also received her Emergency Medical Technician certification. Mrs. Toon had worked for several years as the office nurse for Dr. Cornstubble in Checotah and had also been active for 12 years as the first deputy in the McIntosh County Commissioner's office and the McIntiosh County Assessor's office. She was married to Nuell L. Toon in 1954 in Checotah, Oklahoma and they made their home on the family farm & ranch there. Mr. Toon preceded her in death in 1987 and she remained in the Checotah area until moving to Bartlesville. She was a member of the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ.
Mrs. Toon is survived by two sons, R. Roneal Toon and his wife Sarah of Springdale, Arkansas, and Donnie R. Toon and his wife Cindy of Lewisville, Texas, one sister, Louise Phillips of Bartlesville, six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and a niece, Karen Sue Coleman and husband Jim of New Richland Hills, Texas and a nephew, Jim D. Phillips and wife Joyce of Bartlesville and a very special friend, Wendy Chavez and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987, her parents and one brother Basil Curnutt.
