Henry was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army as a part of the occupation forces in Japan.
After being discharged from the Army, he attended the University of Tulsa where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. He also met Barbara Wagner, of Bartlesville and they married in May, 1950 and loved each other for 62 years.
