Julia Lou (Judy Berry) Sires, 86, resident of rural Bartlesville, died Friday January 3, 2014 in Bartlesville.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the New Harmony Baptist Church in Bartlesville, with Rev. Tom Cox officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mrs. S ires was born in Bartlesville to Ace Berry and Marie (Keefer) Berry. After the death of her father, at age 3 her moth er married Melvin (Hap) Lansdown when she was five years old, and he raised her from that age. She was raised on Blue Ribbon Ranch near Wann, Oklahoma, where she graduated from High School. She was married to Manford H. Sires in 1946 and they made their home in Bartlesville. She was employed with the Phillips Petroleum Co. as a switchboard operator from 1953 until her retirement in 1985.
She is survived by her son Ron Sires and his wife Sheri, of Bartlesville, by three granddaughters Jeanine Flenniken and husband Ben of Bartlesville, Tresha Swickey and husband Brad of Edmond, OK., and Amber Sires and her Fiancé Erik Yales of Bartlesville, by three great grandchildren, Jessie Swickey, Travis Scott, and Jack Yales, and one great great- grandchild Avery Scott, and by sever al nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, and her husband Manford H. Sires in 2004, and by two brothers Jack Lansdown and Virgil Berry, and by two sisters Lillian Hatfield and Arlene Berry. Her hobbies were Professional Rodeo Cowboys and following the career of her son Ron and her nephews.
