Maggie Louise Oder, age 88, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away September 10, 2012 at Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs.

Maggie was born February 14, 1924 in Claremore, Oklahoma to the late Raymond and Emma Mae (Wells) Stith. She graduated Nowata, Oklahoma High School in 1942 and married Paul Oder on December 14 of that same year. They were blessed with five children. Maggie was a pbx operator for Southwestern Bell and a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church, Council Bluffs; volunteer at Deaf Missions and served as president of the Union Pacific Junior Old Timer's in Las Vegas. Maggie dedicated many volunteer hours to her community.
In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Oder in 1996; stepmother, Grace M. (Taylor) Stith; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Maggie is survived by her 5 children, Robert P. (Connie) Oder of Bartlesville, Okl., Richard L. (Audrey) Oder of Tulsa, Okl., Renetta Riley, Raymond L. (Kim) Oder all of Council Bluffs, Roma (Troy) Backhuus of Plattsmouth, Neb.; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Memorial service, Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at Risen Son Christian Village, 3000 Risen Son Blvd., Council Bluffs, Iowa. Rev. Duane King will officiate. Burial of cremated remains, Friday, 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery, Nowata, Okl. Memorials are suggested to Risen Son Christian Village.
