Patricia Cuplin, formerly of Bartlesville, passed peacefully at the age of 85 on August 26, 2013 in Oklahoma City. Patricia Jane Agee was born May 11, 1928 in Tulsa, OK to J. Lee and Ethel (Money) Agee. She lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Bartlesville as a child before moving to Ellenwood, KS. She graduated from high school in Great Bend, KS where she met the love of her life, Morton C. Cuplin. Patricia and Morton married on August 26, 1947. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Education in 1951 from the University of Wichita and began her teaching career in Preston, KS, as an English/Drama teacher and cheerleading coach. After Morton was discharged from the Army in 1955, Patricia stayed at home with their daughters. She participated actively in church ministries and study groups, P.E.O., bridge clubs and Kappa Delta Alumnae. In later years she worked for the Bartlesville Public Schools in the financial office. She will be remembered for her unwavering support of Morton's music career and passion for gardening and family. Her peaceful spirit and graceful soul made everyone around her better.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and and in 2012 by her husband of 65 years, Morton. Patricia is survived by daughters Pamela Dowd (Timothy) of Oklahoma City and Margaret "Meg" Gregory (Scott) of Eden Prairie, MN; grandchildren Kelley, Megan, Molly and Lt. Tim (Brittany) Dowd; Adam and Alex Gregory; sister Joan McClatchey and niece Jan Pepper (Doug) and family. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the caring staff of Crossroads Hospice and The Fountains of Canterbury in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, August 30 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Bartlesville, OK with Fr. Lee Stephens officiating. Following a reception, Internment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made in Patricia's name to St. Luke's Episcopal Church for ministry outreach or to the Bartlesville Education Foundation 1100 S. Jennings Bartlesville, OK. 74003.
