Paul Hinshaw Powell passed away Monday, March 25, 2013. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Reverend Mark Carter officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Ponca City. The family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.

Paul was born September 2, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK to Paul Thurston and Lucille (Hinshaw) Powell. Paul was active in the Redeemer Lutheran Church. He dedicated 27 years of service to Phillips Petroleum Co. and retired in 2002 as an information technology expert.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his many close friends, studying, traveling, playing golf and analyzing OU football. Paul loved learning and challenging thoughts and ideas.
Paul is survived by his wife Zeta of the home. One brother, Phil Powell and wife Carol of Ponca City and sister, Patricia and husband Phil Guinn of Ponca City. Brothers-in-law; Victor Johnson and wife Andrea, Vance Johnson and wife Debra, sister-in-law, Zana and husband Mike Cook. Nephews; Dylan Powell, Jefferson Powell, Nicholas Johnson and wife Dana, and Spencer Guinn. Nieces; Whitnee Guinn, Mikala Johnson, Amanda and husband Kyle Moberly, Carrie and husband Jason Grace, Vanessa and husband Nathan Goodman, Katie Cook, grand nieces and nephews; Aspen Grace, Huck Grace, Brooke Johnson, Darcy Johnson, Tristan Goodman and in-laws, James and Ruth Johnson of Shawnee.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
