Mr. Paul Loma Mitchell, 86, of rural Bartlesville, died at 4:35 P.M. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Mitchell will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday at the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ with Mr. David Hammonds officiating. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded by the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105. Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Casket escorts will be his nephews, Bill Mitchell, Brad Mitchell, Matt Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Stan Mitchell and Clint Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell was born at Ada, Oklahoma on July 28, 1926 to Eva (Hart) and Thirman Mitchell. He grew up in the Stratford, Oklahoma area and graduated from Stratford High School. After graduation he worked construction on the west coast for several years. He entered the U.S. Army from December 13, 1950, was stationed in France and received his Honorable Discharge on December 18, 1952. Mr. Mitchell was married to Francis Jones on May 31, 1953 at the Church of Christ in Stratford. They settled in Bartlesville in 1953 and he joined his brother Berch in Mitchell Refrigeration & Air Conditioning for several years. He then owned and operated Paul's Refrigeration and Culligan Water Conditioning for many years. He was a rancher, small oil producer, inventor and an early day "entrepreneur". He was actively involved in numerous land transactions in the Bartlesville/Dewey area. Mr. Mitchell was actively involved in the Bartlesville/Dewey area for many years. He was a past president of the Bartlesville Exchange Club, the first president of the BarDew Water Association, and was on the Board of Trustees for the Verdigris Valley Electric Co-Op. In 1959 he led a successful effort to combine eight separate health and local agencies annual fund drives into one united appeal. Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ, taught Sunday School and was very active in church mission work. He served in India on an extended mission trip and returned to the India mission fields several times. He also did mission work in the Boston, Massachusetts area for over a year.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of 59 years, Francis, of the home, a sister Mary Lou Brown of Dewey and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carran, Berch, Elvin and L.T. and sisters, Ruby, twin sister Pauline and Jackie.
