Phylis Fay (Wood) Jackson, 69, died Friday September 28, 2012, due to auto accident at Bartlesville.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, in the New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Stevenson officiating. Cremation arrangements were directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Phylis Fay Jackson was born March 18, 1943 at Coffeyville, Kansas to Woodrow Wilson and Esther Evelyn (McLaughlin) Wood. She was raised in Boulanger, Osage County, Oklahoma where she attended Boulanger Elementary School. She commuted to Bowring High School in Bowering, Osage County, Oklahoma were she graduated in 1961. Mrs. Jackson attended Bartlesville Beauty College through her instructor degree. She received certification to dispense medications.
Mrs. Jackson was married to Leon Smith and he preceded her in death in January 1979. She later married Harold Roy Jackson on December 23, 1979 at Bartlesville. They made their home for over 32 years in Bartlesville, Washington County, Oklahoma.. They founded and ran Jackson Cleaning Team. She also worked at Sterling House and Heritage Villa Nursing Center as a beautician, cook and nurse. She cleaned residences and watched homes while their owners were away. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, primarily religious subjects and later took up china painting and glass painting at the Washington County Adult Center in Dewey, Oklahoma. She worked as a volunteer Ombudsman for senior rights and served on the lunch line at the Agape Mission.
Survivors include: her husband Harold Roy Jackson of the family home in rural Bartlesville; one son Harold Roy Jackson, Jr., of the home; one daughter Nora Fay Vickery of Tuttle, Oklahoma; one brother Ralph Wood of Sanger, Texas; two sisters Wilda Wise of Bartlesville, and Joyce Dreiling of Hays, Kansas; one half-sister Linda Heinlein of Sedan, Kansas; six grandchildren Joshua Seville, Gabriel Seville, Adrian Vickery, Ashley Vickery, Brandon Vickery and LeKeisha Steinberger; two great-grandchildren Paul Steinberger and Nicklas Steinberger and several nieces and nephews.
After a lifetime of love, she was put to rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, Washington County, Oklahoma in loving memory.
