He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Medical Corps and as a lifelong "Sooner" fan he then attended the University of Oklahoma as well as Northeastern State College at Tahlequah. He was married to Jessie L. Buck in 1947 at the First Methodist Church in Barnsdall. They made their home primarily in Pawhuska. Mr. Javine was employed as a medical technologist at the Pawhuska Hospital from 1949 until his retirement in 1982. After his marriage ended, he made his home in Tulsa and Oklahoma City until recently returning to Barnsdall. Mr. Javine liked gardening, stamp collecting and camping, although his greatest passion was the movies which he learned to love while he was a projectionist at the Barnsdall Theatre while in high school.
