Sherri went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 25th at 12:06 pm. Born in Amarillo, TX on June 19, 1946 to John and Arline Hooker, and the oldest of 3. Raised in Amarillo, she graduated in 1964 from Tascosa HS and attended Amarillo College and West Texas University, where she majored in Accounting. She married her High School sweetheart, Larry Pinson, and adopted their beautiful daughter Michelle. Larry passed to the Lord in 1991. In 1994, The Lord blessed Sherri with Michael Clemons, her beloved husband, who loved her so well and survives her passing.
During her life, Sherri worked as an office manager, accountant, treasurer of Leadership Amarillo in 1986-7, executive director of Make-a-Wish Foundation, and owned and operated a gift shop, Country Cupboards, on Route 66 in Amarillo, where she sold her own artistic creations. She designed and manufactured adult and children's T-shirts which were marketed in 8 markets throughout the US and foreign countries. She traveled extensively throughout the United States in her retail and wholesale business. Every day she, dressed, fixed her hair, and served those around her.
Sherri could do it all and make everyone laugh while she did it. She taught Sunday school, led Brownie troops, Girl Scouts, painted, printed, sang, created, laughed, cooked, loved and transformed everywhere and everyone she encountered. Our friends, community, and the world have lost a great, giving, loving, lady, wife, Mimi, DiDi, friend and partner who will be desperately missed. Her talent, humility, grace, kindness and brilliant shining light cannot be equaled.
Sherri is survived by her husband Michael, her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jeff Burke, Michelle Davis, Tommy Clemons, Clayton Clemons and her 9 grandchildren, Logan and Nicholas Burke, Beau and Chase Davis, Thomas Michael III, Tanner, Tucker, Derek and Aaron Clemons, her sister Debbie Moore of Lubbock and her brother Mike Hooker of Austin, as well as nieces, nephews and all those who loved her and whom she loved.
Services will be at the First Wesleyan Church sanctuary 1776 Silver Lake Road in Bartlesville on Wednesday, May 29th at 6:00 pm with a celebration of life reception following.
An Amarillo memorial service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on the afternoon of Friday, May 31st, where she will be laid to rest.
