Mrs. Virginia L. Dagley, 94, longtime Bartlesville resident, died at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Green Tree Assisted Living Center in Sand Springs.
Memorial services for Mrs. Dagley will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, February 7, 2014 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Cox officiating. Memorial services and cremation are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
A memorial fund has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1080, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74005.
Mrs. Dagley was born at Smithville, Kentucky on April 12, 1919 the daughter of William Jennings and Anna Louise (Abbott) Utley. She grew up in Kentucky and then in Evansville, Indiana where she graduated from high school and was then employed with the Mead Johnson Company in Evansville. She was married to Kenneth H. Dagley, Sr. in 1945, at Columbus, Georgia. They made their home in Evansville, Indiana until 1963 when the family moved to Bartlesville. Mrs. Dagley received her Licensed Practical Nurse training at Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville and then worked for Jane Phillips in their Geriatrics Unit as an LPN until her retirement in 1984. Mr. Dagley preceded her in death on November 20, 1997, and she continued her home in Bartlesville. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church where she was active in decorating for different church activities for groups at the church, a member of the Young At Heart group and theWMU. She was also a longtime member of the Garden Club. Mrs. Dagley moved to Sand Springs to make her home near her children three years ago.
Mrs. Dagley is survived by one son, Kenneth H. Dagley Jr. of Sand Springs, one daughter. Jane Anne Western and her husband Charles Lee Western of Sand Springs, two sisters, Mildred Bruner and Jeanette Korff both of Evansville, Indiana, a brother-in-law, William E. Wright of Sebree, Kentucky, two grandchildren, Jennifer Anne Western-Burrough and her husband, David Paul Burrough and Stephanie Lynn Western-Brock and her husband, George Russell Brock and one great grandchild, Tyler Blake Meziere. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Etta Kahn Wright.
