Mr. Bob Jess Taylor, 81, lifelong resident of the Oglesby area, died at 4:09 P.M. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at his home.

Funeral services for Mr. Taylor will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Oglesby Christian Center with Rev. Mike Morris and Rev. Joe Goodin officiating. Interment will be in the Oglesby Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established and those who wish may send the contributions to the Alzheimers's Association, 2448 East 81st Street, Suite 3000, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137.
Mr. Taylor was born at Oglesby, Oklahoma on April 14, 1932 to Jess and Lova (Gougler) Taylor. He grew up and received his education at various rural schools in the Oglesby area. He entered the U.S. Army in October 1952 and served in the Korean Conflict until receiving his Honorable Discharge in September 1954. Following his military service he returned to the Oglesby area. He had worked at Reda Pump and at the fertilizer plant in Bartlesville but was primarily active as a farmer, raising cattle, hauling hay and cutting wood. He was later employed by the City of Bartlesville for a number of years until his retirement. Mr. Taylor was married to Ada Louise Olson on August 19, 1955. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor have made their home in the Oglesby area since that time.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Ada Louise Taylor, two sons, Robert Alan Taylor and wife Kathy and Willie Jess Taylor all of Oglesby, one daughter, Myrna L. Coble and husband Bill of Oglesby, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, four sisters, Beulah Taylor of Bartlesville, Gladys Nichols of Nowata, Mavis Cederberg of Firth, Idaho, and Nancy Melendez and husband John of No. Venice, Florida and four brothers, Vernon Taylor and wife Charlotte of Bartlesville, Lester Taylor and wife Joyce of Sunray, Texas, and Kenneth Taylor and wife Gerri and David Taylor and wife Gayla all of Oglesby. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Jess & Lova Taylor, two sisters, Opal Hutton and Emmabelle Pierce and an infant brother, Thomas Taylor.
