William Leon Quattlebaum was called to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 84 years of age.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Cox officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Leon was the only child born to Herman C. and Adella (Schliesser) Quattlebaum at home in Leedey, OK on July 29, 1929. Leon married Odessa Dowling on July 29, 1950 on his 21st birthday. Leon & Odessa established their first home on a farm in Leedey. To this marriage three children were born. Shortly after their second daughter arrived, the family moved to Colorado where Leon worked on a ranch. When hearing of a job opportunity in Bartlesville, Leon and Odessa packed up all their belongings and their two daughters and drove over the weekend to Bartlesville. Leon went to work at Reda Pump in the fall of 1954. He began as an electrician and completed his career as a machinist. He retired from Reda Pump with over 30 years of service. Leon was a loving son-husband-father-grandfather and a friend to many. Leon was very proud of all his family.
Leon is survived by his three children; Roy Quattlebaum of Copan, Donna Barclay and fiance Roger Burman and Billie and David Shepherd all of Bartlesville. He was blessed with four grandchildren; Kevin Lynch and wife Cala, Tanya Schmidtlein and partner Cameron Cates, Lisa and husband Adam Smith and Troy Shepherd. Six great grandsons; Clay Lynch, Braydon and Dalton Schmidtlein, Easton and Gavin Lynch and Jax Smith. Two great granddaughters; Bristyn Schmidtlein and Kyleigh Shepherd. And another great grandchild on the way. Two dear friends; Ellen Ikenberry and Lisa McChesney.
Leon was preceded in death by his wife Odessa and great grandson Keagon Shepherd.
