Mrs. Judy Ann McKnight, 71, of Bartlesville, died at 12:36 A.M. on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Funeral services for Mrs. McKnight will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the Spirit Church in Bartlesville with Pastor Darryl Wootton officiating. Interment will be in the Ramona Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. and on Monday from 9 A.M. until 9. P. M. as the casket will remain closed at the church. The McKnight family will receive guests at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
Judy Ann McKnight, retired school teacher and minister's wife, was born on October 6, 1942 in Houston, Texas. She was soon adopted by two loving parents, James W. and Ella Lucille Skeen of Highlands, Texas. She grew up in Highlands and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas in 1961. She attended Lee Junior College in Baytown, Texas and graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas in 1964 with a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in Music. She first taught at Stephen F. Austin Elementary in Baytown, Texas from 1964-1966. She also taught school at Independence, MO, and Bartlesville, OK at Hoover Elementary. She retired from teaching in 1998. Judy was a gifted teacher and choral director.
Judy married Charles McKnight in Highlands June 3, 1966. Together they traveled as evangelists with the Assemblies of God. They then pastored churches in Houma, LA, Independence, MO., and Bartlesville, OK. After retiring from 32 years in the pastoral ministry in 2002, they traveled to Swaziland Southern Africa from 2005-2009 serving as missionaries teaching in the Swaziland College of Theology.
She is survived by her husband, Charles McKnight of Bartlesville, one daughter, Angela Willis, her husband Terry Willis and their 3 children, Adrienne Thomas, Nathan Thomas, and Kalli Willis of Oklahoma City; one son, Rev. Stephen McKnight, his wife Kristen, and their children, Liam, Collin, Delaney, and Maggie of Springfield, MO.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James W. Skeen and one brother, James W. (Pete) Skeen, Jr.
