John Sylvester Farley, Sr., 90, of Bartlesville, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Walker-Brown Chapel with Reverend Ted Brown of Arkansas City, Kansas officiating. Final resting place for Mr. Farley will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.

John was born April 16, 1924 in Durango, Colorado to Albert and Catherine (Nanna) Farley. John was a Navy veteran serving in the Pacific during World War II. He married the love of his life, Marguerite Ione Potterton, on June 8, 1947 in Aztec, New Mexico. They were married for sixty-two years and had made their home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma since 1970. John retired in 1986 from Phillips 66 after 30 years of service.
John is survived by one son Robert W. Farley and wife Jennifer; three grandchildren John S. Farley III, Elizabeth M. Pfister and Eric W. Pfister. One sister Betty Hayes along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite; his parents; son John S. Farley Jr.; two sisters Alberta Johnson and Dorothy Nelson; one brother Donald Farley.
John was loved by many, with special mention to Ruth Betts and John and Janet Kidd.
