Patrick Cummings passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Jane Phillips Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Humble Road Church with Reverend Jeff Wickham officiating. U.S. flag presentation will be made by American Legion Post #105 Honor Guard. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Patrick Thomas Cummings was born September 26, 1950 in Wichita, KS to Clyde Cleo and Jesse (Lee) Cummings and was a member of the Oogala Sioux tribe. He was raised in the Ochelata area and graduated from Ochelata High School in 1968. Patrick was a radioman with the U.S. Marines and served his country during the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge at the rank of Corporal and received several medals of service and bravery.
Mr. Cummings was a master carpenter by trade and helped build many of the residential areas in Bartlesville. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was always willing to help others in need. He never took a friendship for granted.
Patrick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl Renee Cummings of the family home; eight siblings: Leo, Howard, Clark, Clarence, Carol, Linda, Virginia and Sandra; two sons, Thomas Nicholas Cummings and wife Aleesha of Appleton, WI, and Christopher Ross Cummings of Bartlesville; a daughter, Angela Marie Cummings-Povlick and husband Timothy of Bartlesville. He was blessed with nine grandchildren: Ryan, Taigan, Lakota Sioux, Trevor, Landon, Aleesha, Joseph, Jaedyn and Dylan.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Cleo and Jesse (Lee) Cummings and four siblings: Alan, Ronald, Bobby and Betty.
