Mrs. Maxine Marie (Stroud) Coonfield, 88, longtime Bartlesville resident and widow of the late Kenneth Alden "Red" Coonfield, passed away at 2:21 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2009, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Coonfield will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, in the White Rose Cemetery. Officiants will be Father Festus Maliwa and Chaplain Mike McDougan. Committal prayers and interment will be directed by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service.
Mrs. Coonfield will lie in state in The Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where family and friends may call for their visitation before the service on Thursday.

Maxine Marie Stroud was born on March 7, 1921 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Willie Edward Stroud and Josephine (Finch) Stroud. At the age of five years old, the family moved from Okmulgee to Torrence, California, prior to moving to Redondo Beach, California. At the age of 10 years old, Maxine moved with her family back to Okmulgee where she was reared and received her education in the Okmulgee school system.
Maxine and Kenneth Alden "Red" Coonfield were united in marriage on January 18, 1936 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma and they made their first home in Bartlesville. Mr. Coonfield was a longtime employee of the Reda Pump Company and Maxine was a homemaker, caring for their three children. Mr. and Mrs. Coonfield were part of the founding organization of the Micro-Midget Racing Program in the Bartlesville area and were, for many years, active in the organization. Both are in the National Hall of Fame for the National Micro-Midget Racing Association. Mr. Coonfield preceded Maxine in death on October 2, 1978 and she has continued to make her home in Bartlesville since that time.
Maxine was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Bartlesville, and a lifetime member of the Animal Rescue Foundation, Bartlesville. She was also an avid, enthusiastic genealogist.
Maxine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and she will be missed dearly by all her family and friends. Survivors include son, Kenneth Edward Coonfield and his wife, Lois, Statesville, NC; daughter, Patty Jean Keaton, Bartlesville; son, William Dee Coonfield and his wife, Janet, of Palm Coast, Florida; grandsons, John Allen Keaton, Jr. and his wife, Kimberly, Powell, Tennessee, Dustin Coonfield, Statesville, NC, Bryan J. Keaton and his wife, Nicole, Bartlesville, Matthew Kee Coonfield, St. Louis, Missouri; granddaughter, Kimberly Marie Coonfield, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and two great-grandchildren, Trey and Gage. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, "Red".
