Thomas L. Reeves, 65, of Buffalo Gap, Texas, died Friday, August 13, 2010, at a local medical center.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010, in Hawley Cemetery with Reverend Ward Hayes officiating, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd, Abilene, Texas. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Thomas was born July 19, 1945 to Mary Ruth (White) and Leroy Reeves in Lamesa, Texas. He served his country in the United States Navy. Thomas married Katy Sue Ausburn. They moved from Sweetwater, Texas to Abilene, Texas twenty-two years ago. Thomas was employed by Long Star Jimpson in the production department.
He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball when his boys were young. Thomas collected basketball and football cards; was a Dallas Cowboy fan; and collected coins and keys. He was a Baptist.
Thomas was preceded in death by his mother; two grandchildren, Kendra Breaux and TaRanda Reeves.
Survivors include his father, Leroy Reeves; his wife, Katy Sue Reeves; two sons, Jason Reeves and Jared Reeves; a step-son, Dan Fuller; three step-daughters, Malissa Williams, Teresa Van Zandt, and Angela Frohn; three step-brothers, Paul Cauthen, Reggie Cauthen, and Melvin Cauthen; three sisters, Ann Tierney, Sue Womack, and Janet Russel; sixteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
