Leslie Eugene "Les" Stewart, of Bartlesville, died November 20, 2012 at Medicalodge in Dewey.
He was born in Kidder, MO on December 24, 1922. Les retired in 1985 from a successful career as a nationally known kitchen designer. He was the co-owner of Kitchen Interiors in Oklahoma City and before that was Vice-President of St. Charles Kitchens of Southern California. He served as a Chief Pharmacist Mate in the US Navy in World War II from 1941 to 1947, serving in all theaters of the war and most of the oceans of the world.
He was married to Wanda Louise Dare on August 31, 1945 in Cape Girardeau, MO. They were happily married for over 50 years. Wanda died in 1996. Leslie remarried in 2000 to Mary Koch, and later divorced, she is also deceased. Les was a believer in Jesus Christ, and taught adult Bible study for over 50 years. Leslie was a Freemason and a member of the Society of the Cincinnati. Except for a few years in Missouri, Les and family lived in Oklahoma since 1978.
Les and Wanda had two sons who, with their families, are left to morn him: Dr. Kyle and Jeralyn Stewart of Bartlesville, OK; Kelly and Gayle Stewart of New Milford, CT; Jessica and Platoon Sergeant Adam Mulvey of Fairbanks, AK and their daughter Olivia Mulvey; Dr. Kyle and Moriah Stewart of Oklahoma City, OK and their daughters Eliana and Jasper Stewart; Adam and Aleksandra Stewart of Dallas, TX and their daughter Lily Stewart; and Kari Stewart of Woodbury, CT.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 27th at 10:30 AM at Disciples Christian Church, 5800 Douglas Lane, Bartlesville. Friends who wish may sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org.
