Mr. Donald Lee Swango, 82, of Bartlesville, died at 12:42 P.M. on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center.

Mr. Swango was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 25, 1930 to Donald Bryan Swango and Virginia Blanche (Nickell) Swango. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University and pursued his Masters degree at the University of Illinois. He served with the U.S. Army from March 1952 until March1954 during the Korean Conflict. Following his Honorable Discharge he was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company at various locations around the country. He was transferred to Bartlesville in 1971 and retired in 1986 making his home here since that time. He was married to Carol Jacklyn Gregory on June 15, 1957 in Belleville, Illinois. Mr. Swango was active on the Community Concert Board, and volunteered at the Frank Phillips Home and the Bartlesville History Museum. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Moose Lodge and the Elk's Lodge. Mr. and Mrs. Swango loved to travel including a number of cruises and to attend Broadway Theatre productions.
Mr. Swango is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carol Swango of the home, one daughter, Lynn Allison Tramel and her husband Roy Lee Tramel of Fulshear, Texas, one son, Gregory Bryan Swango and his wife Brenda of Rogers, Arkansas, one brother, Stephen Morton Swango of Austin, Texas, and four grandchildren, Mylauna Swango, Moorea Swango, Meleea Swango and Madison Elisabeth Tramel. He was preceded in death by his parents.
