Billy Jack Smith went to be with the Lord on March 24th 2013. He was born April 17, 1963 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Thomas (Bill) Smith and Doris Mae (Stephens) Smith.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Public viewing will be from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Billy went to Osage Hill School, Barnsdall School and he graduated from College High School in 1981.
Billy has worked as a welder for John Zinc Company and worked for Bill Smith Metal Processing as a welder, a truck driver and a supervisor for the last 27 years.
Billy spent the last 27 years of his life in recovery and helping others going through similar situations. He was the backbone of the Washington County Area AA and NA groups. He was responsible for starting ALANO group, chairing meetings, and serving in any way that was needed. Billy was known for opening his home to others in recovery needing a safe environment in which to live. There was nothing Billy wouldn't do when it came to helping a fellow addict in recovery.
Billy was an avid sportsman who loved to fish. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending his days on the lake fishing with his good friends Calvin Ashlock, BJ Bowdle, and Wesley Duffield. He would organize huge fish fries for his family and friends. He was also a Deer hunter.
Billy is survived by his parents, Bill and Doris Smith of Bartlesville; one sister, Debbie Smith of Bartlesville; one brother Tim and his wife Karen Smith of Bartlesville; two nieces Sandra Conway of Bartlesville; Timberly and her husband Randall Hodges of Collinsville, OK; two nephews Will and his wife Kotone Smith of Bartlesville; Kevin and his wife Andrea Smith of Bartlesville; two great nieces Kelly Smith, Lisa Smith; six great nephews, Cameron Conway, Parker Conway, Bryant Smith, Ayden Hodges, Collin Smith, Michael Smith, Special sister Linda Edens; cousins, Randy Smith, John Smith, Kaleb Smith, Jack Smith and his family. His God Children John Whitworth, Matt Whitworth, Katherine Whitworth. His Special family Debi Brown, Whitney Leech, Raymond Leech, Chandler Leech, Chasity Leech, Carson Leech, Wesley Duffield, his NA and AA family.
Billy well be missed by his family and many special friends.
