The Guest Book is expired.

Alfonso Jose Vargas, 82, lifelong resident of Dewey, OK, died 12:05p.m. Thursday in Dewey.
Alfonso or "Pecos" was born the son of Alfonso and Dolores Vargas on June 1, 1930, in Dewey. Alfonso was a carpenter and worked in construction wherever he was needed or an opportunity was available. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Alfonso was a true Dewey Bulldogger football fan; he loved watching the games and even attended practices to encourage the players. He was involved with the remodeling of the Dewey VFW Post and was made an Honorary Member for his efforts. Alfonso was a free spirit and never felt the need to get a driver's license or own a car. He would walk wherever he needed to go. He was also an artisan who enjoyed drawing, music and building small furniture to give as gifts. Alfonso was well known in Dewey and lived life without worries. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.
Alfonso is survived by one sister Mary Maldonado and her husband Visente of Dewey; three brothers Louis Vargas of Dewey, Clem Vargas and his wife Retha of Claremore, and Esteban (Lou) Vargas of Dewey; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother Pastor Vargas; and three sisters Emila Martinez, Francis Gomez and Cecilia Meade.
