Julie Annelle LeCluyse, 67, died peacefully on September 2, 2018, surrounded by her family in Independence, Mo.
Memorial Service held 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel, 11924 E. 47th St., Kansas City 64133; with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment at a later date.
Julie was born on March 13, 1951, in Independence, Mo. and was a lifelong area resident. She attended O'Hara High School and William Woods College in Fulton, MO. Growing up she enjoyed horseback riding, fishing and spending time outdoors. Julie had a passion for animals, the arts, and helping others. She had a gift for finding the good in everyone she met. Toward the end of her life, she dedicated most of her time to volunteer work for several charitable organizations, spending time with friends, and caring for her dogs, Gus and Lady as well as her beloved chickens.
Julie is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Paul & George Anne (Schwarz) LeCluyse and her grandparents, Charles & Cora (Schleicher) LeCluyse and Henry & Georgia (Wren) Schwarz.
She is survived by her siblings, Laura Knaus (John), Paul LeCluyse (Mary), Mark LeCluyse (Mary Jo) and Fred LeCluyse (Deana); nieces and nephews, Matthew LeCluyse (Jennifer), Ryan LeCluyse (Alison), Jennifer Knaus, Sarah Floss (Bob), Nathan LeCluyse, Patrick LeCluyse (Molly), John LeCluyse (Jess), & Lynn LeCluyse and great nieces and nephews, Jackson, Ava, Sydney, Lane, Forest, Carter & Bryce.
Memorial contribution may be made in Julie's memory to Harvesters Community Food network at www.harvesters.org or the Salvation Army.

Sorry to read of Julie's passing. My parents, Thelma and Kenneth Crews were good friends of Julie's parents and grandparents. I remember Julie as a very young girl. Rest in peace Julie!
