Doris Williamson, 76, of Grain Valley, Mo., passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Church of Jesus Christ, Grain Valley Restoration Branch, 32811 E. Truman Road, Grain Valley.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Kansas City Hospice, 14500 E. 42nd St., Suite 240, Independence, MO 64055.
Doris was born in Sugar Creek, Mo., on July 13, 1937, the daughter of Oliver and Vida Decker. She was diagnosed with breast cancer
seven years ago, yet she never gave up. She never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook – even through countless radiation, chemotherapy treatments, and pain. She continued to be greatly involved with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as they grew. Doris was also an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Grain Valley Restoration Branch. Doris was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Raymond Williamson.
She is survived by her children,: Brian Williamson, Bruce Williamson and Brenda Jones, all of Grain Valley; her grandchildren, Julie Long, Brad Williamson and Hunter Jones; and her great-grandchildren, Noah Williamson and Memphis Long.
