Lawrence A. Raab(1924 - 2014)

Lawrence Anton Raab, 90, of Independence, Mo., passed away February 19, 2014.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Sunday, February 23, at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church (10010 E. 40 Highway, Independence, Mo.) with rosary recited at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the church 11 a.m., Monday, February 24, with interment following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Lawrence was born January 12, 1924, in Rich Fountain, Mo., to George and Anna (Kloeppel) Raab. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 21. Lawrence worked as a mechanic repairing machinery at Marion Laboratory until his retirement in 1990 and was also a member of the United Ironworkers Union. He was a member of Nativity Parish for over 50 years and belonged to their Over 55 Club.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Julitta in 2009. He is survived by a son, Charles L. Raab (Monica); four grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.
