Coy Weldon Coker was born in Fouke, Ark., July 4, 1939, to Elbert and Evie (Clark) Coker. He passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at his home in Fair Play, Mo.

He is survived by his wife of 54 1/2 years, Anna Sue Coker of the home; a son, Robert W. Coker and wife, Polly, of Blue Springs, Mo.; two daughters, Kimberlee Coker of Springfield, Mo., and Sarah Coker, New York, N.Y.; grandchildren, Nicole Coker of Blue Springs, Mo., Ashley and William Bumgarner of Daytona Beach, Fla., Kyle and Lindsey Coker of Blue Springs, Mo., and Geofrey and Cory Wall of Blue Springs, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Jourdan and Cody Walker and their father, Denver, of Sugar Creek, Mo., Owen Barta of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Jacob Coker of Blue Springs, Mo.; brother, Edwin Coker and Wilma, of Fair Play, Mo.; sisters, Brenda Green and Horace of Texarkana, Ark., and Lynda Bunch and Jim of Texarkana, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Charlene Batterton and Gary of Wheatland, Mo.; brothers in-law, Dale DeShazo of Kingston, Okla., and Joe DeShazo of Viola, Ark.; sister in-laws, Roxie and Audrey Coker of Fouke, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews that were very special to him.

Coy retired from General Motors in Kansas City, after working there 30 years. He loved to fish and hunt with his brothers and nephews; and just hanging out with them. He loved his family and was always there for them. We will all miss his sense of humor, but we know he is no longer in pain.
