John R. Grecco Obituary
John R. Grecco, 70, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the Royer-Hays Funeral Home, 205 S.W. 17th St., Blue Springs. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be at 1 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo.
John was born on January 25, 1943, to Sam and Betty Grecco in Fort Brag, Ga. He spent most of his younger years in Johnstown, N.Y., where he attended and graduated from Johnstown High School. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Mather Air Force Base in Rancho Cordova, Calif. In 1968, he met his wife of 45 years, June Erwin and was married on April 6, 1968.  He moved his young family to Guam while he finished his service. They then returned to New York where John worked for Beech Nut Baby Foods. In 1976, the family moved to Blue Springs, Mo., where he worked for Owens Corning until he retired in 2007. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and First Church of Blue Springs.
He is survived by his wife, June Grecco; his sister and her husband, Joan and William Kyle; and his five children, his daughter, Rebecca and her husband, Jim Bales, his son, Brad and his wife, Teresa Grecco, his daughter, Renee and her husband, Brad Weddle, his daughter, Cindy and her husband, Travis, and his daughter, Sonya Patterson and her partner, Kevin Webber. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Kansas City Hospice.
