David Wayne Ward Obituary

David Wayne Ward, 52, of Independence, Mo., passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, at his residence.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, July 10, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 60452. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington St., Arma, KS 66712; with burial to follow in Sheffield Cemetery, Arcadia, Kan.

David was born August 1, 1965, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Johnnie Joe and Beulah May (Hull) Ward. He had worked in construction and lawn care. He enjoyed fishing, collected items and was a huge KC Chiefs fan.

Survivors include his mother, Beulah Adkins and her husband, Robert, of Independence, Mo.; 3 sisters, Virginia Baker and husband, Clay, Susan Gonzales and husband, Rudy, and Michelle Adkins, all of Independence, Mo.; 2 brothers, Chris Morris and Daryl Ward, both of Lexington, Mo.; 4 step daughters, Chasity Lang (Jerome Bell), Lisa Lang (Matt Inman), Shannon Hubbard (Thomas Evans) and Sarah Hubbard, all of Independence, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren, Thomas Evans Jr., Makynzlee Evans, Alexia Sheridan, Skyllar Bell, Brooklynn Baker, Dalton Inman, Dacommah Inman, Jager Wirth, Kambreia Inman, Justin Wirth and Joshua Wirth.

He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Naomi Lang in 2016; a brother, Johnnie Lee Ward in 2011; his father, Johnnie J. Ward in 2002; and a granddaughter, Madison Inman in 2010.
